A major casting announcement has been confirmed for the 2027 UK and Ireland tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS, with acclaimed West End performer Alice Fearn set to take on the iconic role of Grizabella when the production arrives at Milton Keynes Theatre.
The musical will play at Milton Keynes Theatre from Tuesday 1 to Saturday 5 June 2027.
Alice Fearn is well known for a string of major West End roles, with credits including Wicked, Come From Away, Les Misérables, Shrek The Musical, Into The Woods and The Woman in White.
She has also appeared on screen in EastEnders and in films including Wicked: Part One, Wicked: For Good, Les Misérables, Mamma Mia! and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Speaking about joining the production, Alice said:
“Grizabella is one of those roles I had on my dream list.”
She also said that becoming part of the legacy of CATS and having the opportunity to perform one of musical theatre’s best-known scores is something she will cherish.
Grizabella is one of the show’s most famous characters and is closely associated with “Memory”, one of the most recognisable songs in musical theatre.
The wider touring cast includes Fin Adams as Alonzo, Kalisha Amaris as Old Deuteronomy, Elliot Broadfoot as Bustopher Jones/Gus, Matthew Caputo as Skimbleshanks, Diante Lodge as Macavity, Jaydon Vijn as Rum Tum Tugger, Jack Wilcox as Munkustrap and Jet Yau as Mr Mistoffelees, alongside a large ensemble cast.
This new production comes from Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and is directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie.
CATS remains one of the most successful musicals in theatre history. The original West End production opened in 1981 and ran for 21 years, while its Broadway run lasted for 18 years.
The musical has since been performed in more than 54 countries, translated into 23 languages and seen by more than 77 million people worldwide.
Audiences in Milton Keynes can expect to hear some of the show’s best-known musical numbers, including Memory, Jellicle Ball, Macavity: The Mystery Cat and Old Deuteronomy.
