Callum Anderson MP has visited the Royal Mail sorting office in Bletchley after hearing concerns from residents about postal delays and problems with deliveries.
He says he raised issues reported by people across the constituency, particularly those living in MK1, MK2 and MK3, which are served by the Bletchley office.
During the visit, Anderson was shown how the operation works and later joined postal worker Spencer, who has worked for Royal Mail for more than 20 years, on part of his delivery rounds.
Anderson praised staff working locally, saying many are doing their best to make sure letters and parcels reach residents despite the wider concerns being raised about the service.
The visit comes while Royal Mail’s national delivery performance is under scrutiny. Ofcom opened an investigation in June after Royal Mail reported missing its 2025/26 delivery targets, with 75.7% of First Class mail delivered within one working day against a 93% target, and 90.2% of Second Class mail delivered within three working days against a 98.5% target.
Anderson says he has also arranged to meet the Chief Executive of Ofcom in mid-October to raise the postal concerns he has been hearing locally.
He says he will continue pressing Royal Mail over service reliability for residents and businesses.
