Splash House MK gives visitors the chance to step inside a private UV-lit studio and get creative with fluorescent paint, with sessions designed around splashing, throwing, dripping and creating glowing artwork.

The experience is aimed at people who want to have fun rather than produce a masterpiece, with no artistic skill needed. Guests are given their own private room, complete with music and UV lighting, and can take their canvas home afterwards. Splash House says its paint is non-toxic and washable.

One of the biggest draws this summer has been the venue’s Splash Battles, which take the experience up another level with paint bombs and a full-on paint battle.

The team says the concept has proved particularly popular with children’s birthday parties and families looking for an activity that feels genuinely different.

Rather than simply sitting down to paint, visitors are encouraged to get messy, paint each other and make the experience part art session, part party.

Splash House describes itself as a private UV paint experience for friends, families, couples and groups, and also promotes sessions for birthdays, date nights and corporate events. The business says it has welcomed more than 5,000 guests, achieved more than one million social media views, featured on BBC Radio and become a Virgin Experience Days partner.

The experience begins with guests getting ready and settling into the studio before the UV lights transform the room and the fluorescent colours come alive. From there, the emphasis is very much on letting loose and creating something memorable.

With parents often searching for birthday ideas beyond soft play, bowling and traditional party venues, Splash House believes its combination of creativity and controlled chaos is helping it stand out.

And judging by the response this summer, there seems to be plenty of appetite in Milton Keynes for activities where getting covered in paint is not only allowed, but actively encouraged.
