A 26-year-old man, who has been formally identified as Mohammed Tanveerul Islam, was tragically stabbed to death in Brooklands Road at around 11.20pm on Thursday (30/7).

A Home Office post-mortem examination yesterday (1/8) found Mohammed died of a stab wound to the chest.

Following extensive investigation work over the last 48 hours, we can now update that we have released the 16-year-old boy from Milton Keynes and 36-year-old man from Aylesbury, who were arrested on suspicion of murder, with no further action and we are no longer treating them as suspects.

We continue to support the victim’s family at this extremely difficult time.

Detective Superintendent Jon Capps, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mohammed. Our thoughts remain with them at what is an extremely difficult time.

"Following the tragic murder and three arrests on Thursday evening, we have spoken to numerous witnesses, completed a significant amount of house-to-house enquiries and CCTV enquires.

“There are many other developing lines of enquiry and there is a large investigation team working tirelessly to find who is responsible.

"We recognise that this news will be concerning for the community. This remains a complex investigation and we continue to appeal for your help.

"We are appealing this afternoon for any information about a male seen on an e-scooter in the Water Eaton Road area and the wider Central Bletchley area in the late evening on Thursday. The only description we have, at this time, is that the male was wearing dark clothing.

“We would ask anyone who lives in the area with a video doorbell or CCTV, or anyone who was driving in the surrounding area at the time with a dash-cam, to check their recordings in case they captured anything relevant to our investigation and report it to us.

"If you saw something in the surrounding areas, and are not sure whether you should report it, please get in touch. Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be helpful for us to understand more about what took place that night.

"You will continue to see an increased police presence in the area. Our officers are there to help, so please do speak with them if you have any concerns or questions."
