The Bike Wall by John Watson at Stantonbury, Milton Keynes was created in 1978 with students at Stantonbury Campus. Through expert advice and careful planning the artwork has been saved and relocated by Aldi UK as part of the building of a new store.
As part of the final stage in preserving the wall, ceramic conservator Kirsten Ramsay and her colleague Penny visited the Bike Wall to provide her specialist advice on what is now required to ensure the wall continues to bring joy to passers by for many years to come.
This has been achieved with the support of Milton Keynes Council Planning, Culture, Conservation and Archaeology Teams and local stakeholders.
