For those wanting to make a splash this Easter, check out the watersports activities suitable for all the family. The dedicated Wakeboarding Centre at Willen Lake offers those keen on trying this sport a variety of introductory sessions. The expert instructors recommend starting out with Kneeboarding or Discover Wake sessions as these are ideal for beginners of all ages who want to get a taste of Wakeboarding.
If you’re looking to take part in a Watersport activity with a little more tuition try one of Willen Lake’s, Discover sessions. At £27.50 per person, these 90-minute sessions are designed to teach you the basic skills of your chosen discipline and are suitable for children age eight and over and adults alike. Why not try Discover Kayaking and Discover Windsurfing both of which are available this Easter.
The new Watersports Centre which opened in 2021 at Willen Lake offers hire equipment that allows you to get out onto the lake. Throughout the Easter holidays hire will be available 11am to 5pm for fun-themed pedalos, paddle boards, canoes and kayaks. Please note that equipment cannot be booked in advance and opening times may vary depending on weather conditions.
If you want to keep your feet on dry land, there are still activities to be enjoyed at Willen Lake. Conquer your fears on the county’s only urban high ropes course. With three levels to choose from Treetop Extreme is suitable for all the family. You could also try a Discover Archery session, which are aimed (no pun intended) at the complete novice.
Located in central Milton Keynes, Willen Lake covers over 100 acres with two different lakes. One is geared up for exciting watersports and adrenaline filled activities, the lakeside Benugo Bar & Kitchen and the biggest free to use play area in the city. The other offers a serene landscape with interesting heritage features, opportunities to spot local wildlife and is perfect for a stroll.
