Hotshots Sports Bar in Milton Keynes has announced the launch of a brand-new Junior Darts Academy, officially aligned with the Junior Darts Corporation JDC, marking an exciting step in developing the next generation of darts players in the local area.

The academy is open to young players of all abilities, from complete beginners to more advanced juniors, offering structured coaching sessions designed to improve technique, scoring, and match play. Delivered in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment, the programme provides a new opportunity for young people to get involved in an organised sport outside of school while building confidence and skill.

A key focus of the academy is providing a clear pathway into competitive darts. Players will have access to JDC rankings, challenges, and national competitions, alongside regular in-house academy events and performance tracking. The programme is designed not only to develop ability but also to give young players a genuine route towards higher-level and potentially professional opportunities within the sport.

What sets the Hotshots Junior Darts Academy apart is its integration with the globally recognised JDC system, combining high-quality coaching with real match experience. Hosted within a dedicated sports venue that already has a strong darts community, the academy will also connect players to existing events and competitions held at Hotshots, creating a complete development environment.

Co-founder of Hotshots Sports Bar Dan Groom said,

“We’re incredibly proud to be launching a JDC Darts Academy here at Hotshots. This is about more than just darts. It’s about giving young players a structured pathway, building confidence, and creating real opportunities to progress within the sport. By working alongside the Junior Darts Corporation, we’re helping to develop the next generation of talent right here in Milton Keynes.”

The launch represents a significant boost for grassroots sport in Milton Keynes, bringing a recognised youth darts programme to the area and helping to engage young people in a positive and social activity. It also establishes Hotshots Sports Bar as a new community hub for junior darts players, with ambitions to nurture and grow local talent.

Looking ahead, there are plans to expand the number of academy sessions and participants, as well as to host JDC-sanctioned events and competitions. The long-term vision is to build a leading darts academy in the region and develop players capable of competing at national and international level.

To mark the launch, Hotshots Sports Bar will be hosting a series of taster sessions for young players to experience the academy first-hand.

These will take place on Wednesday 22nd April from 6:00–7:30PM, and on Sunday 26th April with two sessions available from 11:00–12:30PM and 1:00–2:30PM. Spaces are limited for each session, so to secure a place, please email competitions@hotshotssportsbar.co.uk with your details and preferred session time.
