Local goalkeeping coach, Lee Reade, has been short-listed as a Coaching Hero in this year’s UK Coaching Awards.
The next stage will be decided by public votes and Lee would welcome your support by voting for him.
Lee was massively affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and rather than sitting quiet and waiting for everything to return to normal, he decided to fight and adapt.
Lee told us, ''During the pandemic I was unable to have personal contact with my Goalkeepers & Players so I set myself up as a CyberCoach on all social media giving many sessions to keep the boys & girls healthy, motivated & optimistic. The Cyber soon developed where many family members took part, often becoming my substitute and personal assistance so that the player had maximum participation in the session.''
Lee doesn't want to win this award just for himself, he wants to win it for those who have been online with him throughout the pandemic.
''While I was nominated I would love to win the award for all who participated as without them it would have been impossible to continue. We stayed together as a family and have come through the bad times.''
The physical activity & ultimately the mental stimulus was vital during lockdown and while it was directed for the benefit of all the players, Lee really benefited from the activities too, as it was great for his own sanity and development of new coaching skills too.
Help Lee on his quest to win a National Award for his amazing work.
