Yesterday marked a joyful milestone for the Milton Keynes community with the launch of Yeh Dosti, a brand‑new vegetarian café bringing authentic North Indian flavours, and a whole lot of heart to Capella House, Winterhill Retail Park.

Created by local businesswoman Anjana Jain, Yeh Dosti (meaning This Friendship or This Community in Hindi) is the culmination of a lifelong passion for cooking. Originally from Delhi, Anjana grew up surrounded by the aromas and traditions of North Indian cuisine. Inspired by her father, who ran a restaurant in the city, she began her own food journey here in Milton Keynes, cooking to order from home and quickly building a loyal following.

With her business growing, the opportunity to take on a dedicated space at Capella House felt like the perfect next step. Now open Tuesday to Sunday, 9.30 am –7.30 pm, Yeh Dosti offers a warm, welcoming space to enjoy freshly prepared vegetarian dishes rooted in tradition and made with love.

But Yeh Dosti is just one part of a much bigger vision.

Capella House itself is being lovingly brought back to life with small independent traders by siblings Jagjit and Rosie Singh, who saw potential in the long-empty building (vacant since 2011) and have reawakened and repurposed it, imagining something vibrant, useful, and culturally rich for the local Indian community, and for Milton Keynes as a whole.

Their dream is now taking shape as a one‑stop destination where people can shop, eat, and connect. And although it’s still growing and more shops are set to open, alongside Yeh Dosti, visitors will currently find:

  • Bazaar Foods - a fantastic International supermarket ( offering fresh produce from India, essential spices, flours, rice, frozen goods, and everyday staples.

  • Millet Me Up - a vegan, gluten‑free bakery specialising in wholesome, innovative treats.

  • Elefant Café  - a plant‑based café known for its creative vegan dishes and relaxed atmosphere.

  • A health store – with a wide range of supplements organic, plant‑based and specialty products.

  • A Jewellery – stunning costume jewellery straight from India.

Together, these businesses are transforming Capella House into a lively cultural hub - a place where community, creativity, and great food come together.

Yeh Dosti is a shining example of what happens when passion meets opportunity, and it’s wonderful to see such entrepreneurial spirit flourishing right here in Milton Keynes. If you’re nearby, pop in for a chai, a chat, or a comforting plate of home‑style Indian cooking. It’s well worth the visit.
