Bletchley Business Receives a Queens Award for International Trade

Bletchley based M&M Supplies UK PLC has been awarded The Queens Award for International Trade, the most prestigious award that can be bestowed on any business from Her Majesty, The Queen.

To recognise the award, Mayor of Milton Keynes Councillor Amanda Marlow and MP Ben Everitt visited on Friday (10th June) to meet with the company's Managing Director and staff.

M&M Supplies UK PLC has been operating out of Bletchley for more than 40 years. Today, the business distributes consumer goods on behalf of the World's leading manufacturers, including Mars, Proctor & Gamble, Nestle, Kraft Heinz, and Kelloggs.

Operating from their newly extended 7,000 pallet distribution centre, the company has grown their International markets by over 37% year on year for the past three years, all of this during a pandemic, whilst navigating their way in a post Brexit market, making this achievement even more incredible.

Frank Purcell, Managing Director, commented:

"I am extremely proud of the company for securing this amazing achievement. The award was only possible because of the entire team who work incredibly hard day in day out, serving customers in the UK and across Europe.

"We are very proud to fly the flag for Great Britain, we have worked hard to forge partnerships around the World, attending trade shows and finding new opportunities. However, we also spend huge amounts of time supporting our UK partners, this includes supporting Milton Keynes Foodbank with donations and logistical support.”

Mayor of Milton Keynes Cllr Amanda Marlow added:

“The team at M&M Supplies should be immensely proud of their success. Such an award highlights the dedication and passion to what they do. To receive it on the Queen’s Jubilee year also makes it that little bit more special.

“Not only will M&M Supplies be an ambassador for the country, they will be an ambassador for Milton Keynes, showing our city’s entrepreneurial spirit.”

“I would also like to thank them for their work with the Foodbank. This is a very difficult time for households, with the cost of living a real challenge for many. The need for M&M Supplies and similar companies to support Foodbanks is real and urgent. We are lucky to have a well organised Foodbank and that is, in no small part, down to the support provided by the team at M&M Supplies."

M&M Supplies has prided itself as a hidden gem in Bletchley, but with the new award the business hopes to use its new platform to highlight the important work it does and bring more investment to Bletchley.
