The arrival of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 to Milton Keynes has created a real buzz for both fans and local businesses throughout the City.
MyMiltonKeynes Business Improvement District (MyMK) is delighted to be a Host City sponsor the tournament’s Fan Parties, taking place in Station Square, every MK match day.
Kicking off the first of the Fan Parties in Milton Keynes, last Friday saw football fans of all ages and genders come together to celebrate in true MK style, with a variety of fun football-themed activities for the whole family, including children’s entertainment, kick-about and ‘learn a new skill’ opportunities, free films and music on the Big Screen, an outdoor exhibition telling the story of women’s football and much more.
MyMK has played a vital role in the success of this event and the two still to come, sponsoring the Big Screen, supplying deckchairs in Station Square and providing transport for volunteers to and from the Fanzone via MyBus.
The next Fan Party event will take place on Saturday, 16th July from 12 noon to 8 pm to celebrate the Finland vs Germany match at MK Stadium (8pm kickoff). As well as the variety of activities taking place, there will also be a dedicated chill-out area, with comfy seats located amongst newly created wildflower meadows. From face-painting to table-football and live music the Fan Parties offer something for everyone. The German Fan Bus will also be there to help get the party started! All activities are free, open to all, with no booking required.
Wednesday 27th July is the final Fan Party and is the last chance to view the FREE outdoor exhibition in Station Square telling the history of Women’s football featuring a series of newly commissioned portraits of local players taken by social documentary photographer, Katherine Green.
