Lady with Multiple sclerosis challenges herself to the Captain Tom 100 Challenge

Debbie Whitworth from Olney, is diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis and is a user of an electric wheelchair.

Debbie does her best not to let her disability get in her way which is why she has taken on the Captain Tom 100 Challenge.

Debbie aims to transfer from her Electric Wheelchair to a manual wheelchair to complete 100 laps from one end of Olney High Street to the market place.

On her JustGiving fundraising page, Debbie said,

''Captain Tom stepped up to help, taking on his famous walk to support the NHS Covid-19 appeal and inspiring millions to donate to the cause. I will be celebrating the extraordinary spirit of Captain Tom my way by attempting to go from my electric wheelchair into a manual wheelchair to do 100 laps from one end of the High Street to the market place ( not all in one go I hasten to add!) and any monies that the good people of Olney and surrounding villages may kindly donate i am pledging to give to Olney Youth Centre to be used in any way they see fit''

If you can spare a donation then please do consider making one to this worthy cause.

We wish Debbie all the best in her quest to complete 100 laps. You can do it!
