The latest update from MK Council on the Lakes Estate Regeneration Project
Work during August has included:
Pre-tender Design: we’re finalising contracts with HTA architects and WSP engineers. We expect this to be agreed this month. Detailed design work will then start on the 202 new homes in Phase A of the project.
Ground Investigations: tenders to appoint contractors to complete the ground investigations were advertised last month and we’ve received a number of responses. We’re now working through those responses to assess suitability and value for money before making an appointment. Ground investigations are set to start onsite during October.

Play area works update
The design for the NE (Gramere Way) play area has been confirmed and the order placed with Serco. Construction is set to start in October and a display board will be installed onsite soon.
Proposals for the SW (Fern Grove) Forest Fantasy Park and NW (Tummel Way) Adventure Park are now with the manufacturers and in the final stages of planning. News on the final play area installation at SE (Laidon Close) Galaxy Park will be shared shortly. We'll be installing display boards and further information at each of the play area sites once each of their orders have been placed.
Latest Towns Deal project
We’ve celebrated the completion of the latest infrastructure project as part of the £22.7million Towns Deal for Bletchley and Fenny Stratford. A new toucan crossing on Drayton Road and enhanced redway has been installed to improve connectivity from Newton Leys and the Lakes Estate with Central Bletchley. The crossing now means local people can safely reach the Blue Lagoon Nature Reserve and re-connect with a route leading directly into Central Bletchley. Click here to find out more online.
Locals of the Lakes Residents Association
The next meeting of the Locals of the Lakes Residents Association will be held on Monday 6 September at 5pm in Spotlight.
Serpentine Court Steering Group
The next meeting of the Serpentine Court Steering Group will be held at 6.45pm on Tuesday 7 September 2021 in Spotlight. Everyone is welcome. Come along and find out what's happening with the regeneration on the Estate.
Lakes Estate Renewal Forum
The next meeting of the Lakes Estate Renewal Forum will be held at 6.30pm on Thursday 23 September at Spotlight. Come and hear updates and progress on regeneration, play areas and green spaces.
Community Coffee Mornings
