Local Councillors donate £1500 for digital devices to pupils in need

Loughton and Shenley Councillors, Dan Gilbert and Amanda Marlow, have donated £1500 to the Hazeley Academy to provide Chromebooks to support students access learning from home and in school.

It is part of an effort from the local Councillors to help ensure that students have access to high-quality remote education should they need it.

The donation ensured the school could purchase 6 Chromebooks for students.

On 1 December, Cllr Marlow paid Hazeley Academy a visit and met with the Headteacher, Tony Nelson, who took her for a look around the new Sixth Form area and spend time discussing the school’s plans.

Cllr Marlow said: “We’re delighted to support Hazeley Academy and their amazing students with their learning.

We know how disruptive COVID has been for our children’s education so it is crucial that we can help students get online and access their learning whenever they can, whether they’re at home or in school.”
