Lovat Hall In Newport Pagnell Set To Receive £294,000 Government Funding For Refurb After Backing From Local MP Ben Everitt

Popular Newport Pagnell community centre Lovat Hall is set to receive almost £294,000 of Government funding after backing from local MP Ben Everitt.

Newport Pagnell Baptist Church are planning a redevelopment of the building and alongside local fundraising they applied for a grant through the Government’s Community Ownership fund.

Local MP Ben wrote a letter of support for their bid to the Government and it has now been announced that the application has been successful.

Ben paid a visit to Lovat Hall to give them the good news and meet some of the community groups who benefit from the centre.

Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, said: “I’m absolutely over the moon that we’ve been successful in securing this massive £294,000 from the Conservative Government towards the refurbishment of Lovat Hall.

“I know how important community centres are to towns like Newport Pagnell and it was lovely to meet the local mum group using the facility today and I actually use Lovat Hall myself to give blood to the NHS.

“And I really want to say thank you to Sara and the team at Lovat Hall as I know the amount of hard work and sleepless nights they’ve had planning this project so I’m just delighted we’ve managed to get this investment over the line.”

Jacob Young, Minister for Levelling Up, said: “We know how much these vital community assets mean to people across the country. They are an important lifeline for people young and old, and they’re the beating heart of our towns, cities and villages.

“That’s why we’re stepping in to protect them with a major rescue package, so we stop these great establishments closing or being lost forever and ensure that they continue to sit at the heart of our beloved communities.''
