Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre announce becoming a Stonewall Diversity Champion

Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre (MKCDC) have joined the ranks of over 850 organisations in becoming a Stonewall Diversity Champion.

Stonewall is Europe’s largest lesbian, gay, bi and trans equality (LGBT+) charity, and their Diversity Champion’s programme aims to ensure all LGBT+ staff are accepted without exception in the workplace. By joining the programme, MKCDC are committing to building an inclusive and accepting environment, supporting lesbian, gay, bi and trans staff in their workplace and beyond. This also extends to their role as an events venue, as when Covid-19 guidelines allow, they are very much looking forward to welcoming same sex wedding celebrations to their beautiful Cruck Barn.

Emma Kosmin, Head of Workplace Consultancy at Stonewall, (she/her) said:

“We’re so pleased that Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre has joined our industry-leading Diversity Champions programme to help support their lesbian, gay, bi and trans staff to thrive in the workplace.

People perform their best work when they are able to be themselves at work and we look forward to working with Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre to improve the experiences of LGBT+ staff and visitors alike. We’re proud to work with over 850 organisations to create inclusive, accepting and welcoming workplaces where LGBT+ people are free to be themselves.”

Noël James, Director and CEO of MKCDC, said:

“We’re committed to making MKCDC as accepting as possible. Many thanks to those at Stonewall for their support and resources, which will help us to embed inclusivity into all we do.”
