Milton Keynes is just a city with concrete cows and roundabouts - #LoveMK

In a time where STILL people are talking about 'Milton Keynes is a just a city with concrete cows and roundabouts' and most if not every, Milton Keynes resident comes back with 'it's really not'

We think today is a good day, on #lovemk day eve to showcase a charity that has saved our green spaces and stopped the 'Milton Keynes is just concrete cows and roundabouts' becoming a reality, ever.

The Parks Trust are a self-financing charity who protect and care for over 6,000 acres of green space and parkland.

'In most places parks are owned and managed by the local authority, but the city’s founders wanted to be sure that such a unique green landscape would be managed and protected forever, without having to compete for funds with other council priorities.

So, The Parks Trust was created in 1992 to care for most of the city’s green space and was endowed with a substantial property and investment portfolio.

The income from this portfolio pays for the vital work of nurturing and enhancing the landscape. We are entirely self-financing.

We wanted to highlight three most common lakes that have given us a place to go and see our loved ones and a great exercise space. So, pictured are Willen Lake, Caldecotte Lake & Furzton Lake. It's not uncommon to see the lakes being used for running, cycling, photography, group activities, water sports, children playing, family picnics, bbq's and so much more. They really are beautiful spots to appreciate right on our doorstep, here in our beloved MK.

We want to know your GO-TO-PLACE, whether it's river valleys, ancient woodlands, lakesides, parks and landscaped areas lakes, you may not have even know that where you walk by every day, where you go for exercise or meet your loved one is owned by The Parks Trust?!
