Milton Keynes Islamic Arts and Culture (MKIAC) are excited to present a day-long community festival at The Chrysalis Theatre. There is family entertainment in the afternoon, followed by an evening concert with dinner included.
‘Mashallah’ is a phrase used across the Arabic-speaking world to express beauty. This event has been created to celebrate the joy, appreciation and thankfulness we hold for the community’s support over the last year.
With films, storytelling and art activities, the afternoon programme is fun for all the family. Syrian specialities are on the menu for everyone with an evening ticket, and this is followed by must-see performances. The renowned Qawaali group, The Khan Brothers, will share the mesmerising heritage of Sufi Qawaali. We are also featuring Palestinian composer and Oud player Saied Silbak, who will
pay homage to the landscape and trajectory of Palestine’s rich music history and Alia Alzougbi and Louai Alhenawi will delight us with storytelling and music based on a collection of stories from Syria.
Join us for this event, which is rooted in the community, let’s celebrate Milton Keynes’ rich cultural diversity!
Tickets are available on Eventbrite and 15% of the ticket donations are going to The British Red Cross, to support the children of recently arrived refugees from Afghanistan and Syria. Click here to book.
