The Liberal Democrats now have 20 councillors, which is 1 more than Labour, making them the biggest party on Milton Keynes City Council.
Councillor Jane Carr was re-elected Group Leader, with Bradwell Councillor Kerrie Bradburn elected as Deputy Leader.
Councillor Peter Cannon who represents Furzton will continue his role as Group Chair, while fellow Bradwell Councillor Marie Bradburn was elected as Vice Chair.

The Lib Dems continue to have strong female representation, with three of the five leadership positions held by women. Following the election of four female councillors, the group is now evenly split between men and women.
Councillor Jane Carr, said:
“Last week’s result was a vote for hard working local people who listen, care and stand up for Milton Keynes all year round, not just at election time.
“We’d like to thank every resident who placed their trust in us, as well as our candidates, members and volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the campaign.
“I’m delighted to have been re-elected by the group to lead the Lib Dems on the City Council. Our focus now is protecting vital services, supporting local communities and helping to build a safer, fairer and greener city.
“Over the next few days, we’ll be speaking with other parties about how we can work in the best interests of Milton Keynes and continue delivering for residents.”
Councillor Kerrie Bradburn, added:
“I’m incredibly proud to have been re-elected as Deputy Leader following such a positive result for our team across the city.
“We now have a real responsibility to repay that trust, and I am looking forward to working with Jane, our group and councillors across the chamber to deliver for Milton Keynes.”
