Milton Keynes Youth Invited to Free STEM Hackathon Showcasing Future Careers in Tech & Engineering

A community-led engineering network is bringing a free, hands-on STEM experience to Milton Keynes this February, aimed at inspiring the city’s next generation of innovators.

UKCENA (UK Congolese Engineers Network Association), a professional network of engineers and technology leaders, is hosting a FREE STEM & Engineering Showcase on Saturday 28th February at The Ridgeway Centre in Wolverton. The event is designed for young people aged 10–18 and 18–25, with a strong focus on supporting local youth from underrepresented and BAME backgrounds.

Having witnessed Milton Keynes grow into one of the UK’s leading technology hubs since 2005, UKCENA’s organisers say it’s vital that local young people are equipped with the skills, confidence, and professional networks needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving industry.

Unlike a traditional classroom session, the showcase will run in a hackathon-style environment.

Attendees will take part in interactive workshops, receive one-on-one mentoring from industry professionals, and explore real-world career pathways in areas including Artificial Intelligence, Civil Engineering, and Product Management.

UKCENA’s mission is to build a stronger and more inclusive future for Milton Keynes by empowering youth today — connecting them directly with role models and opportunities in engineering and technology.

The event is free, but registration is required. Community members are encouraged to share the opportunity widely with families, schools, and youth groups.
