MK Council is reviewing how best to manage the Lakes Estate regeneration project going forward. This is our biggest and most ambitious regeneration plan which we're 100% committed to delivering.
Below is information directly from MK Council
We wanted to use this update to give you some information about the work that's been going on in the background and the next steps.
What's happening now
Earlier this month, the Council approved a list of projects, including:
Funding for 290 new homes
Hiring contractors to deliver the first phase of the project
This enables us to begin the process of building new homes for Serpentine Court residents.
Environmental improvement works are expected to begin later this year. This will include improving some of the courtyards, play areas and cycle paths.
If you would like to get involved in the consultation on the environmental works please email regeneration@milton-keynes.gov.uk
Next steps As we review the timescales for the project, we're determined to deliver on what residents voted for. Some of the next steps include:
Complete the consultation process for estate improvements and begin works
Appoint consultant teams to begin ground surveys
Begin procurement process and appoint contractors
Complete acquisitions needed / finalise planning contributions agreement
We will provide you with indicative timescales in due course.
Estate Renewal Forum We're looking for representatives to join the new Lakes Estate Renewal Forum (ERF) which will be made up of residents, the Residents Association, the Town Council, SCSG and others partners like local businesses and schools. The role of the group will be to represent the community as we progress with the project.
If you're interested in joining please contact your Community Partnership Officer, Sam Goodwin samantha_goodwin@btinternet.com
