MK shoppers to be offered free fitness scan at centre:mk, to help keep New Year’s on track

Shoppers at centre:mk, Milton Keynes will be offered a free ‘Boditrax’ scan and 1 to 1 health & wellbeing consultation as part of the shopping centre’s “Mind, Body & New You” initiative, designed to help guests keep their New Year’s Health & Fitness Resolutions.

Milton Keynes based gym, Energie Fitness (located in Kiln Farm), have partnered on the initiative with a pop-up pod in Middleton Hall, (outside John Lewis) from 15th to the end of January, where they will be offering free 1 to 1 health & wellbeing consultations via walk-up and pre-booked appointments.

Shoppers can use the gym’s state of the art ‘Boditrax’ scanner in the privacy of the pod, to ascertain their metabolic age (how old the machine thinks they are), body fat percentage, muscle mass and other key metrics. The Energie Fitness team will then use the data to offer free personalised advice in terms of exercise, healthy eating and hints and tips to help shoppers make some positive changes to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Rob Francis, Club Owner at Energie Fitness said of the initiative: “We are really proud to be supporting centre:mk’s Mind, Body & New You campaign this January, with our free 1 to 1 consultations. The Boditrax scanner we’ll be bringing along is a fantastic piece of equipment, which can help quickly identify what’s going on with our bodies and that data, combined with our expertise in wellbeing and personal training, helps us to look at giving guests individual advice and targets to help reach their fitness goals.”

centre:mk will also be using the initiative to highlight new healthier menu options at its restaurants and promote the wide range of health, wellbeing and fitness brands and products available throughout the centre, aiming to inspire shoppers to make 2022 a year of renewed health focus and wellbeing.

Kevin Duffy, Centre Director added, “Wellbeing is not just about exercise and diet, it’s about mindfulness, relaxation and mental health. We want to use January to help our shoppers to start afresh. We have plenty of brilliant retailers and brands who specialise in pampering and relaxation as well as the more traditional exercise and fitness products available too. We want to help everyone to start their own personal journey to be the best they can be in 2022.”
