A statement has been put out on to social media confirming that the 2021 Newport Pagnell Soapbox Derby has again been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Although this is very sad news for those who attend and look forward to the event each year, you would imagine that next year, it'll be full steam ahead for those involved.
The committee confirmed on Facebook today, ''It is with our deepest regret that within the last few minutes, we have taken the decision to cancel this year's event. The decision was not an easy decision to make but we feel as a committee it will be the right one. Thank you to all people that have supported the event previously. Hopefully we will be out of this pandemic next year and we can run another successful event. Watch this space. Keep safe. Newport Pagnell Soapbox Committee.''
