39 yo Terry Pickford Jailed for Multiple Offences

Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been jailed for multiple offences in Milton Keynes.

Terry Pickford, aged 39, of Towan Avenue, Fishermead, was sentenced to five years and two months in prison and a driving ban for five years and four months on Tuesday (3/10) at Aylesbury Crown Court.

Pickford pleaded guilty to three counts of attempt to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of threatening a person with a blade, one count of possession of a blade in a public place and one count of driving a motor vehicle dangerously at the same court on 21 July.

At approximately 8pm on 3 June this year, Pickford waved an axe towards two men on Middlesex Drive, and then threatened them.

Pickford then got into his car and drove away down a residential street where he then deliberately swerved onto the footpath running over three people and driving away.

The victims all received minor injuries, with one requiring hospital treatment. They have since been discharged.

Pickford was arrested on 8 June and charged the following day.

Investigating officer PC Tom Record, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “These offences happened roughly one minute apart.

“It is nothing short of sheer luck that nobody received serious injuries as a result of Terry Pickford using his vehicle as a weapon.

“I would like to take the time to mention the bravery of all the victims for supporting this investigation throughout the process and I hope that mental and physical effects from this are not long lasting.

“Due to Pickford entering a guilty plea, it has saved the victims from having to attend court for a traumatic trial.

“I would like to thank to colleagues who assisted to ensure a strong case was presented to the Crown Prosecution Service.

“I am extremely pleased with this lengthy sentence poses as a strong deterrent that serious violence and the use of weapons of any kind is not tolerated in Milton Keynes.”
