Further to the recent announcement regarding the future development of Eaglestone restaurant, MKUH would like to clarify its intention to maintain a trolley service to in-patient wards.

The trust has asked the Friends of Milton Keynes Hospital & Community if they wish to continue being involved in the provision of the trolley service. If the Friends choose not to do so in future, the Trust will manage the service with our own volunteers.
The development of the restaurant is in its very early stages and, once full proposals and plans for the restaurant development are ready, MKUH will engage restaurant customers – staff, patients and visitors – in conversations to help shape the plans for the much-valued facility.
As previously outlined, MKUH needs to increase its restaurant capacity to keep pace with growing demand. The current restaurant and kitchen facilities were built over 30 years ago and were designed to serve a much smaller workforce and a local population that was around half the size that it is today.
The trust wishes to restate its gratitude for the many years of dedicated service provided by the Friends. We have spoken with the charity’s leadership to offer support with identifying employment and volunteering opportunities for those who wish to continue their involvement with the trust because we know that the team cares deeply about our patients and the health of the city.
