On Friday evening, 2 February, jubilation filled the Chrysalis Theatre at Camphill as The Parks Trust celebrated their 245-strong team of volunteers.
This year’s annual Volunteer Celebration and Awards Evening celebrated the immense support shown to the Trust in 2023. This group of people generously take on roles ranging from Volunteer Rangers and Wardens, Events and Activities Volunteers, Outdoor Learning Volunteers, Conservation Volunteers and Wildlife Surveyors.
In 2023, The Parks Trust’s volunteering programme had a landmark year with:
11,352 combined hours of volunteer support
Over 50 additional Health Walk volunteers joining in the Spring
Achieving coveted Investing in Volunteers accreditation in October, the UK Quality Standard in outstanding volunteer management and involvement.
Hannah Bodley, Deputy Chief Executive, at The Parks Trust says:

Amongst the astounding Award winners of the evening, the standout accolade of Volunteer Of The Year was shared by couple Steve & Caroline Beechey. Between the two of them, they contributed more than 250 hours to volunteer activities with The Parks Trust in 2023 – on top of the many other local initiatives that they support in Milton Keynes.
