Tara Humberstone, the creator of Humbo’s Candy Land, started her business when she was furloughed last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
‘’It all began when lockdown started, I was put on furlough at work, so I thought to myself what better time to start my little dream than now. We put everything we could into it and here we are today, thriving! We currently run the business from home but have also found ourselves a space in the ‘Love Local’ store in TheCentre:MK, which is all very exciting and keeping us busy.’’
The company keep all of the family in mind when putting together their treats and with that they offer many types of packages.
If you want to choose your individual favourite sweets or a beautifully made hamper filled with a ready-made selection, they can do it!
Do you have a child who is mad about football? Well, this may be the choice for you. The football hamper is the current ‘best seller.’
Tara explained that although sweets are quite easily accessible, there is still a lot of fun to be had when ordering your treats!
‘’We have brought back the penny sweets option because those were some of the best memories for me as a child. I always remember when I was young, going to the shop with some money and choosing sweets, coming out with a big bag full. This is what we wanted to be able to do to give our young generations a sense of ownership with their money, aswell as choice.’’
Humbo’s Candy Land are also keen supporters of local charity so where they can, they do their bit to help support the wider community. They recently donated a hamper to Willen Hospice to help raise vital funds for the care services the hospice provides.
