intu Milton Keynes confirms reopening for non-essential retail

Following yesterday’s government announcement, intu Milton Keynes plans to open for non-essential retail fromMonday 12 April 2021.

Currently open for essential retail and Click & Collect, including Barclays Bank, HSBC, Santander, Zara and Hugo Boss, the welcome news will see the majority of the centre’s retailers and leisure facilities open.

“We are delighted by the recent government announcement and, under official safety guidance, we look forward to welcoming people back to the centre to support our retailers,” said Shelley Peppard, general manager at intu Milton Keynes.

Under the proposed reopening measures, visitors to the centre will be required to wear a face covering at all times, maintain social distancing and use the hand sanitiser provided. The number of visitors in the centre will be monitored and restrictions will be put in place to safely manage the flow of people.

Shelley adds: “We want to reassure people that we are putting everything in place to make them feel comfortable and confident when returning to the centre to help them fully enjoy their shopping experience. So many of us have missed the pleasure of browsing a clothes rail, grabbing a bite to eat or catching up over coffee. From 12 April we can. While we ask everyone to follow safety procedures, it’s now time to come out and support the high street.”

A full list of retailers that will open from 12 April will be regularly updated on the centre’s website herewww.midsummerplace.co.uk and posted on social media.

intu Milton Keynes’ strict and comprehensive cleaning regime and increased frequency of deep cleaning will continue for the foreseeable future.
