Enjoy seasonal offers, carol singers, decorations, markets and more at the shopping destination this Christmas
Deck the halls and raise a glass, it’s the season to be jolly and treat the ones you love!
As the Christmas we’ve all been waiting for gets closer, the magic of the festive season returns to Midsummer Place packed with surprises and delights, starting with a Christmas Market which opens on Friday 12 November.
Operating up until and including Christmas Eve, the festive market will see a host of independent businesses selling everything from tasty treats to gorgeous gifts. There is something for everyone, and you’re guaranteed to find that ‘something special’ for friends and family.
The sellers will alternate throughout the Christmas season, with names including The Damn Fine Cheese Company, MacDonald China, More Bees Please, MVF Music, The Fudge Factory and Sundari Jewellery.
Officially kick-starting Christmas is the Milton Keynes City Centre Light Switch On, taking place on Saturday 13 November, thanks to MyMiltonKeynes. The stage is set for plenty of entertainment, fun and the traditional countdown from 4pm*.
On the same day, the North Pole opens up its free postal service, so little ones can write to Santa and let him know what’s on their wish list. Pop them in the post box opposite LEGO by Wednesday 15 December, so there’s time to get a reply from the main man himself!
As the days get darker and the weather gets chillier, it’s the perfect setting to waltz through the malls, feel the festive spirit under a canopy of twinkling lights and enjoy a chorus of Christmas carol singers.
‘Tis the season for deals too, and there will be plenty of bargains ready to snap up this Christmas. With the centre’s retailers offering a range of products, from low-cost luxurious to premium presents, be sure to keep an eye out for special offers and sales – particularly the week of Black Friday, which this year falls on 26 November.
Christmas also sees the return of the successful ‘Thinking of You’ campaign with Age UK MK, where people are invited to write a letter to an elderly person living on their own. If you’d like to write a letter, please send it to Midsummer Place’s management office – full details will be available at www.midsummerplace.co.uk.
“After a wonderful summer and our big birthday celebrations, we are really looking forward to welcoming the people of Milton Keynes and beyond back to Midsummer Place in the run up to Christmas” said Shelley Peppard, general manager at Midsummer Place.
She adds: “We have no doubt that our calendar of fun-filled festive activities, shopping experiences and displays will help to spread Christmas cheer and share bags of Christmas spirit with our fantastic community.”
As autumn unfolds and the Christmas preparation well and truly beings, Midsummer Place is the place to be for those fun family days out, solo shopping sprees, and long-overdue coffee catch ups with friends.
