Heidi Alexander MP, Secretary of State for Transport, visited the newly resurfaced section of Forfar Drive in Bletchley yesterday. Along with Callum Anderson MP and Labour councillors and candidates, they met local residents to see the progress being made to improve Milton Keynes’ roads.

The Labour government has given a record amount of investment to local councils to address pothole problems. MK City Council is fixing one pothole every twelve minutes. Labour will fix an additional 6000 potholes by adopting new scanning technology to identify road defects.
Heidi Alexander MP, Secretary of State for Transport, said:
“Milton Keynes’ Labour team are clearly working hard to make sure local roads are fit for purpose. It’s been great to speak with residents and see the difference a well-run Labour council is making to their everyday journeys, thanks to working in partnership with their fantastic local Labour MP and the Labour government.
"Labour’s MK City Council are really delivering for local people. Don’t risk losing progress they are making. Make sure you vote Labour in all three boxes on Thursday 7th May."
Callum Anderson MP for Buckingham and Bletchley said:
“After the recent wet winter I know from residents that the pothole plague has caused significant problems for drivers, resulting all too often in expensive repairs. Our Labour councillors have been pushing hard to ensure proper fixes are completed as soon as possible, and the newly resurfaced section of Forfar Drive is a clear example of their commitment.
“We must continue this work at pace. If Milton Keynes City Council ends up being run by Reform UK, who have caused chaos in other areas they’ve been elected, vital services such as road maintenance will be put at risk. I encourage everyone to get out and vote Labour on Thursday so our City Council can keep delivering a successful Milton Keynes for everyone."
