Waste collection reverts back to normal service as of today

Last week (25 January 2021) MK Council had to suspend all waste and recycling collections across MK due to the icy weather conditions, to protect their crews, vehicles and other road users.

As a result, delays in collecting waste and recycling combined with COVID absences have had a knock-on effect to services.

MK Council are asking residents to now place their waste and recycling collections on their normal collection day. So, if your collection was due to be picked up on Friday 29 January which was rolled over to Saturday 30 January, it will now be collected on Friday 5 February.

A spokesperson for the council said, ''We want to be realistic with our residents, we hope people will understand we are doing our best to keep the service running during these difficult times. We are sorry for the inconvenience.''

''We’re doing everything that we can to continue to provide essential services in these extreme circumstances and we thank you for continuing to support our crews as front-line key workers.''
