Local councillor Shazna Muzammil recently visited the Willen Hospice Milton Keynes Charity Shop in Oxley Park, where she met with staff and volunteers and encouraged residents to drop in and support the much-loved local charity.

During her visit, Cllr Muzammil spent time speaking with the team, learning more about the shop and the important role it plays in supporting the work of Willen Hospice. The shop offers a wide range of items, from pre-loved clothing and homeware to brand-new pieces, making it a great place for residents to find something unique while supporting a vital cause.
Speaking after her visit, Cllr Muzammil said:
“I popped into the shop and ended up leaving with a little haul myself, as there’s such a great mix of items, including some brand-new pieces too. It’s definitely worth a visit.”
She added:
“The team are incredibly welcoming, and it’s clear how much they care about the work they do. Every purchase made here helps support families across Milton Keynes at one of the most difficult times in their lives.”
Willen Hospice provides specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses. It costs around £11 million each year to run, with only a small proportion funded by the NHS. This means shops like this play a crucial role in funding care for local families.
The Oxley Park shop is part of the hospice’s wider effort to bring sustainable, community-focused retail into local areas, making it easier for residents to support the charity close to home.
Cllr Muzammil is encouraging residents to drop in, have a browse, and support the shop.
“Places like this are at the heart of our community,” she said. “If you’re nearby, do pop in, you might just find something you love while supporting an incredible local cause.”
