Young People’s Opportunities Fair returns to MK

On Tuesday 4 July, MK City Council will host a FREE event aimed at young people aged 16-25 who are not yet in employment, education, or training.

Created by the City Council, the Young People’s Opportunities Fair will bring together 17 organisations from across the city. Visitors can drop in to Civic between 11am and 2pm to learn about work experience, traineeships and apprenticeships as well as education and local job opportunities.

Representatives from a wide range of companies, charities and organisations including Thames Valley Police, Acorn Early Years, John Lewis, MK College, MK Theatre and the Council itself will be on hand to answer questions and provide information.

The City Council’s Information, Advice and Guidance workers will be there to speak with young people. As well as signposting to local opportunities, they can provide help with CV writing and interview techniques. Anyone looking for additional support will be able to book a personal appointment after the event.

The event is FREE to attend, parents and carers are welcome and no booking is required.

“Across Milton Keynes, we have a fantastic network of businesses and organisations who can help young people to take their first steps. Now in its third year, this event is attracting some exciting names from across the city. Whether you’re looking for work experience, guidance on how to find your ideal job or just want to know what is available, this free event is for you.” - Cllr Zoe Nolan, Cabinet Member for Children and Families
