MK Council are failing to meet over 40% of their performance targets, despite reducing the number of indicators that their performance is judged on by nearly half.
The Labour-Liberal Democrat controlled Council’s latest performance review shows a significant number of performance targets are underperforming.
Services such as waste collections where the Council are judged on missed collections are underperforming with missed collections nearly double the Council’s targets.
The full picture of the Council’s performance remains to be seen with MK Council reducing the number of performance targets from 210 to 133 meaning they are being judged on fewer targets than previous years.
Cllr Alice Jenkins, Chair of Scrutiny Management Committee, stated that the Council are “falling behind on nearly half of the services that MK Council delivers on”.
She added:
“The Council’s record on delivering on the real problems facing people of MK is troubling.
They are failing to deliver value for money for our residents and seem more intent on fiddling the figures than solving the problems facing MK.”
